Certified Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) contractor by the EPA
On April 22, 2008 the Environmental Protection Agency issued a Federal law requiring contractors that disturb painted surfaces in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 to be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Individuals obtain certification by attending an eight-hour training course provided by an EPA approved training firm.
